Makeitalia launches second edition of Supply Chain Challenge

After the success of the first edition, concluded with the final event last 21 September 2022, Makeitalia launches the second chapter of the Supply Chain Challenge.

It concerns the National Championship in Supply Chain involving different Italian Universities, particularly Master’s degree courses in Management Engineering.

Goal: To identify the Italian Supply Chain Champions.

The name of the initiative comes from a tool developed by Makeitalia, the Supply Chain Game. A simulation and training model that aims to have its players play the main business roles that impact the supply chain and evaluate the consequences of their decisions on the company’s performance. A training tool that also experiments with the ability to work in teams.

Going back over the stages of the first edition: the Supply Chain Challenge saw an initial qualification phase involving 10 Italian universities, from Trento to Cosenza, and more than 500 students. The winning team from each stage participated to the 21 September 2022 final challenge, which proclaimed the winning team from the University of Bergamo.
The final event was, in addition, an opportunity for the 50 qualified students and the initiative’s partners to meet through cognitive meetings and practical tests.

What’s next? The second edition of the Supply Chain Challenge is getting started.
The first qualification phase, Italian League 22-23, will be held from November 2022 to May 2023.
The second edition confirms the participation of the following universities: University of Parma, Sapienza University of Rome, University of Calabria – Cosenza, University of Bergamo, Polytechnics of Milan and Turin, University of Naples Parthenope, University of Trento, Siena, Modena and Reggio Emilia.

Four new entrants have joined the race to the 22-23 Finals in this new edition: the University of Florence, Cassino, Brescia and the University of Naples Federico II. Other universities are expressing interest in participating in the championship.

More than 700 students are involved.

The final phase, which will take place during 2023, will determine the winning team of the second Supply Chain Challenge.

Makeitalia has always collaborated with the main Italian universities, with the aim of spreading the culture of Supply Chain Management, bringing out the best talents and creating professional opportunities for students.
