Makeitalia’s Supply Chain Challenge – Third edition: from Modena to Parma!

On November 20th Makeitalia played the first match of the qualifying phase with over 20 students from the “Progettazione e controllo dei sistemi logistici” course of Professor Eleonora Bottani – University of Parma.

Special thanks to the Professor and all the students who challenged themselves at the Supply Chain Game!

The winning team from the University of Parma will compete with the winning teams from other Italian Universities during the Finals 2024.

Makeitalia has been nominated “Campione della Crescita 2024”.

The German Institute ITQF and the Repubblica Affari & Finanza have once again recognized Makeitalia among the companies with the most economic expansion in Italy in the last three years, following a selection of multiple companies nominated for the Champion of Growth Award.

The Award refers to an initiative, established by the German Institute for Quality and Finance and by the newspaper La Repubblica (Weekly Business & Finance), relating to a study on Italian companies experiencing the greatest economic expansion.

Supply Chain Challenge 2024, here we go!

Makeitalia Supply Chain Challenge, third chapter: it’s official!

The second edition of the Supply Chain Challenge recently ended with great success, with the final event on 19 September 2023 which decreed the winning team.

The National Supply Chain Championship among Italian Universities begins its third edition.

Growing numbers compared to the second edition, over 1,200 participating master’s students and 20 participating universities.

Objective: to give voice to the best talents and create new professional opportunities through a concrete, innovative and meritocratic initiative.

Makeitalia is therefore pleased to announce the new Road Map of the qualifications for this third edition and the Universities involved (The Road Map is constantly updated)!

Students of master’s courses in Management Engineering will compete in the Supply Chain Game. For each University, the winning team will be elected and will compete in the final event in 2024!

Best Performer Award to Makeitalia

Makeitalia among the 1,000 best companies in Modena

Also for 2023 Makeitalia was awarded as the best performing company in the Modena entrepreneurial fabric.

The ItalyPost Study Center carried out research on the financial statements of companies in the province of Modena for the EmiliaPost and L’Economia newspapers of the Corriere della Sera, identifying those that stood out most in terms of company growth.

Makeitalia collected the award at an official ceremony held on 7 November in Modena.

The Makeitalia Supply Chain Challenge Finals concluded in Modena

The 2023 Italian Champion Team of the Supply Chain Challenge has been elected in Modena

On 19 September, Makeitalia elected the winning team of the second edition of the National Supply Chain Championship at the Modena Golf & Country Club, in the presence of 75 student finalists, the President of the Emilia-Romagna Region Stefano Bonaccini and the initiative’s partner companies.

 

Supply Chain Challenge: what is it?

This is the First National Supply Chain Championship created by Makeitalia and which saw, in this second edition, the involvement of 18 Italian Universities and over 1,000 Master’s students in Management Engineering.
Born with the aim of giving voice to the best talents and creating new professional opportunities in the Supply Chain sector, the final phase of the competition took place on 19 September 2023 at the Modena Golf & Country Club.

The September event was the conclusion of a qualifying period which was held from November 2022 to June 2023: 8 months of competitions between 18 Italian Universities, such as Milano, Torino and Bari Polytechnics, Sapienza University of Roma, University of Calabria-Cosenza, University of  Parma, Firenze, Siena, Palermo, Bergamo, Brescia, Napoli Federico II, Napoli Parthenope, Bologna, Padova, Trento, Modena and Reggio Emilia, Cassino and Lazio Meridionale.

Over 1,000 students involved in a competition which aimed to test themselves with the management of a “real” supply chain, through a training and simulation tool developed by Makeitalia, the Supply Chain Game.

The 75 student finalists faced each other one last time on September 19th. At the end of the competition, Makeitalia, in the presence of President Bonaccini, awarded the winners of this second edition: the team from the University of Padova, composed of Leonardo Buffolo, Lorenzo Cassarà and Giacomo Martucci.
On the podium, in second place: the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, with the student Lorenzo Ferrari.
Third place was awarded to the team from the University of Brescia, made up of Maksym Huz, Andrea Piatti and Francesca Michelini.

The day of September 19th was also a unique opportunity for the students to interact with partner companies:

Companies that shared the principles on which the Supply Chain Challenge is based – merit, excellence, innovation – and that actively participated in the Finals, presenting their core business and providing the finalists with the opportunity to meet and compare with their Supply Chain Manager, through interactive and practical workshops.

One day left until the 2023 Supply Chain Challenge Finals!

One day left until the 2023 Finals of the Makeitalia Supply Chain Challenge (second edition).

The Supply Chain Challenge, an initiative that brings values ​​such as merit, excellence and innovation, is the first National Championship in the Supply Chain field which involves different Italian Universities, in particular the Master’s Degree Courses in Management Engineering: more than 1,000 university students participating in the Qualification phase, 18 Italian universities involved, 75 finalist students, only 1 winning team.

Objectives: identify the Italian Supply Chain Champions, spread the culture of Supply Chain Management, bring out the best talents and create professional opportunities for students.

The event is about to experience the final challenge between the 75 best talents: on September 19th at the Modena Golf & Country Club!
