The fourth edition of Makeitalia’s Supply Chain Challenge has come to an end

Gold Medal for the University of Padua

On 16 September, the fourth edition of the Supply Chain Challenge officially came to an end at Modena Golf & Country Club. During the Finals, Makeitalia crowned the 2025 Italian Supply Chain Champions.

The closing event was sponsored by the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Province of Modena, the Municipality of Modena and Confindustria Emilia Area Centro. Also in attendance were the partner companies of the initiative: Dallara, DSV – Global Transport and Logistics and Oltre Solutions.

Supply Chain Challenge: what is it about?

It is a National Supply Chain Championship that involves every year around 1,200 Master’s students in Management Engineering. A tournament among Italian universities, whose mission is to identify the future professionals of the supply chain through collaborative and strategic teamwork.

A challenge designed by Makeitalia, named Supply Chain Challenge.

The final match was held on 16 September 2025 at Modena Golf & Country Club — once again — the playing field of the 77 finalists coming from the 21 Italian universities where the qualification rounds took place throughout the year: Parma, Florence, Padua, Naples (Parthenope), Bergamo, Cosenza, Cassino, Rome (La Sapienza), Rome (Tor Vergata), Trento, Milan, Brescia, Udine, Turin, Siena, Palermo, Pisa, Naples (Federico II), Bari, Bologna, Modena and Reggio Emilia.
A heated challenge among 1,200 students that began in November 2024 and continued until June 2025.

The 77 finalists worked on the management of a supply chain using the Supply Chain Game, a training tool designed by Makeitalia, which allows participants to experience in practice the entire process that a supply chain professional must handle.
In this context, in order to reach the final goal, the players applied the best strategies through efficient teamwork and optimal management of criticalities.

At the end of the competition, Makeitalia’s management and Maria Costi, President of Assembly Commission V of the Emilia-Romagna Region, announced the victory of the three winning teams of the fourth edition of the Supply Chain Challenge, who demonstrated outstanding ability throughout the challenges and achieved excellent results.

On the podium: gold medal for players Alberto Cazzoli, Emanuele Renucci and Giovanni Sinigaglia from the University of Padua; silver medal for players Federico Dominici, Elena Grazzini and Pietro Palagi from the University of Siena; bronze medal for players Youssef Hadir, Mattia Torresi and Giuseppe Tortora from the University of Parma.

The Finals on 16 September also saw the active participation of the partner companies of the fourth edition: Dallara, DSV – Global Transport and Logistics and Oltre Solutions. Leading companies in the automotive, logistics and technology sectors, they promoted and shared the core values of the Supply Chain Challenge — innovation, teamwork, meritocracy and excellence — and offered the finalist students the opportunity to meet supply chain leaders through interactive and practical workshops. An important opportunity for exchange with the professional world capable of enriching their skills and experience.

The fourth edition of the Supply Chain Challenge comes to an end, leaving room for a brand-new chapter — the fifthwhich will begin in October 2025.
